Let's say I'm talking with a friend about how someone is ambitious. Maybe the friend distrusts ambitious people and I can see we can't really have a good talk it. So I say, "I mean the equobenity of ambition, not its impoverished mode." If s/he knows equo. that will work and we can go on. If not, I have to explain the difference between good ambition and bad. It takes a lot of time. Easier if both know the e.s and q.s.
The second way I use it is if I am accused of being so cautious I'm of no use to anyone who's trying to make something happen. This accusation is useful to me. I can pause and consider whether there is truth in what they say. If so I thank the person and change. But if I really think I'm in the equobenity of caution I am free to continue being caution. I don't take away from this a bad feeling that weakens or denigrates me.
